Day 7-10: Neighbor of the Beast, Part 3

Tony got green tea ice cream, cake, and red bean and glutinous rice goodies.

Masami went to town and ordered the green tea behemoth special.

Tony, seen here with some cute enameled friends.  Kyoto.

 Sato-chan! Some pharmaceutical's mascot, I think.  Kyoto.

Yasaka Shrine, far away.  Kyoto.

Yasaka shrine, not so far away.

A well where fresh water can be drawn at the shrine.  If that's not your cup of tea, vending machines aren't far.  Yasaka Shrine, Kyoto.

Left: oracles written on small bits of paper, tied to anything for good luck.  Right: caskets of sake.  Yasaka Shrine, Kyoto.

This was the only photo I was allowed to take inside the Noji temple.  Sorry.  Kyoto.

One of several ponds surrounding Noji Castle.

Noji Castle from outside.

Face time at Noji Castle.

Zen rock garden.  Noji Castle.

The leaning towers of tree.  Noji Castle.

Trees with very straight trunks, probably wired straight when they were little spruces.  Noji Castle.

At the entrance of a 60s-themed Western-style restaurant.  Kind of like Planet Hollywood vomited on.  Kyoto.

Someone told me they were a Beatles cover band.  I couldn't tell them apart from the original, quite frankly.

Filter house has its own divider here in this Kyoto record shop.
